Book Description Cengage Learning, Inc, United States, Hardback. Condition: New. 7th edition. Language: English. Brand new Book. Ideal for courses that require the use of a graphing calculator, ALGEBRA AND TRIGONOMETRY: REAL MATHEMATICS, REAL PEOPLE, 6th Edition, features quality exercises, interesting applications, and innovative resources to help 1/5(1). In Algebra 2, students learned about the trigonometric functions. In this unit, we extend this world by proving various trigonometric identities and defining the inverse trigonometric functions, which allow us to solve trigonometric equations.

Precalculus – Semester B. Course Information PRE CALC 1B is the second semester of this two-semester course. Welcome to Precalculus 1B. MAC — Precalculus Algebra and Trigonometry — Syllabus. Prerequisites: C () or better in MAC , or SAT Math score of or better, or ACT Math score of 24 or better, or College-Level Math CPT score of 60 or better. Course Description: The course follows the Math Emporium model: Students meet twice a week for minute lectures and must spend 2 hours . Rather, the difficult part of a calculus course often is applying one’s algebra and trigonometry skills effectively to solve calculus problems. So, for that reason, successfully completing precalculus will have a tremendous impact on you if you choose to continue your studies by taking calculus.

I used this book for several students I tutored in both Honors and Regular Precalculus. The book has plenty of clear examples in each section with practice problems. The illustrations are useful in helping understand difficult concepts such as Polar Coordinates, Conic Sections, Polar Coordinates of Conic Sections, Vectors, Trigonometry.

Many chapters of College Precalculus are suitable for other freshman and sophomore math courses such as College Algebra and Trigonometry; however, instructors of those courses might need to supplement or adjust the material.

The text and images in this textbook are grayscale/5(87). This book covers a wider variety of topics and examples than any other precalculus or trigonometry book I've seen.

(I'm a community college math instructor, so I've seen quite a few.) In many ways, it's the prototype of the kind of math textbooks we need in the era of graphing calculators and computer algebra systems/5(2).

College Algebra + Trigonometry(Precalculus) OpenIntro is featuring these textbooks by Stitz and Zeager as part of an OpenIntro pilot program. Together, these two books can also be used for a Precalculus course.

Precalculus: An Investigation of Functions is a free, open textbook covering a two-quarter pre-calculus sequence including trigonometry.

This book covers all the standard topics of both a college algebra and trigonometry course. I could only find two topics that I wish were included (neither are typically included college algebra and trigonometry texts).

The first was a discussion of the importance of proof in mathematics/5(16). A casual glance through the Table of Contents of most of the major publishers' College Algebra books reveals nearly isomorphic content in both order and depth.

Our Table of Contents shows a different approach, one that might be labeled “Functions First.” To truly use The Rule of Four, that is, in order to discuss each new concept algebraically, graphically, numerically and verbally, it.

Many chapters of Openstax College Precalculus are suitable for other freshman and sophomore math courses such as College Algebra and Trigonometry; however, instructors of those courses might need to supplement or adjust the material.

Precalculus & Trigonometry Precalculus courses mix together algebra and trigonometry that is designed to prepare students for the study of calculus.

College Algebra is an introductory text for a college algebra survey course. The material is presented at a level intended to prepare students for Calculus while also giving them relevant mathematical skills that can be used in other classes.

The authors describe their approach as "Functions First," believing introducing functions first will help students understand new.

Precalculus 1 & 2 / Trigonometry provides a study of functions and their graphs, including polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions. Additionally, right-triangle trigonometry, trigonometric functions and their applications are covered.
